Businesses, service groups, individuals and families from throughout the community can help the Wave Robotics Team!

As part of the FIRST Robotics Competition, the Wave Robotics Team provides an unmatched opportunity for Oshkosh Area students to learn more about careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, marketing and business. It works.  Five out of six graduating seniors, who participated on the team, have chosen to pursue further education in the fields of science and technology. 

At the start of the competition season, the team is given a kit of parts, a competition challenge and six weeks to build a robot that will compete in regional tournaments.  Last year, the inaugural Wave Robotics team attracted nearly 40 students from area high schools. This year, as many as 40 students and dozens of adult mentors from a variety of careers will once again work together to meet the FIRST challenge:

• strategically design and build a competition robot in six weeks, using a pre-assigned kit of parts
• scout other teams whose strategies complement your own and build competition alliances
• spread the message about the importance of science and technology education throughout the community and give back to the community

The Wave Robotics Team is a program of the Oshkosh Recreation Department.  All contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
